As a core region with rapidly developing industry in Southeast Asia, Indonesia’s chemical industry has a strong demand for stable high-temperature heat sources. Meanwhile, local palm oil processing and chemical production generate a large amount of biogas (methane content: 60%-80%). Traditional direct emission not only wastes energy but also exacerbates the greenhouse effect. The company that has reached this cooperation with
Sitong boiler is a a large-scale chemical plant in Indonesia specializing in the production of fine chemical products. Its process links (reactor heating, material distillation, polymerization reaction) require stable heat energy of 280℃-320℃. Originally, they used a diesel fired thermal oil boiler, which had 3 major pain points: high operating costs, substandard exhaust emissions, and unstable fuel supply. In response to the Indonesian government’s "Green Energy Transition" policy, the plant decided to replace it with an efficient and environmentally friendly biogas-fired thermal oil heater. The customer finally selected
Sitong boiler’s YY(Q)W-4700Y(Q) series horizontal 3-pass biogas-fired thermal oil boiler. The customer chose methane as their boiler fuel. This boiler is equipped with a special biogas low-nitrogen burner optimizing the combustion ratio to address the characteristics of biogas (large calorific value fluctuation and impurities),which can ensure complete biogas combustion (combustion efficiency ≥99%) and NOₓ emissions ≤50mg/m³to meet the Indonesian environmental emission standards.
The YY (Q) W-4700Y (Q) thermal oil heater adopts a horizontal three-pass coil structure. It uses thermal oil as the heat carrier to deliver high-temperature heat energy of 320℃ at 0.8MPa low pressure through forcing liquid-phase circulation via a circulating oil pump. It has no explosion risk compared with steam boilers cause it requires no high-pressure qualification, and features simpler operation and maintenance. The entire system is equipped with over-temperature, over-pressure, low liquid level, and flame failure protection devices, with fully automatic PLC control to monitor operating parameters in real time and trigger automatic shutdown and alarms for abnormalities that meet the 24/7 continuous production needs of chemical plants. The boiler supports triple-fuel switching (biogas/natural gas/light diesel), prioritizing self-produced biogas from the chemical plant to replace diesel fuel for free, significantly reducing energy costs. It can automatically switch to natural gas or diesel when biogas is insufficient to ensure uninterrupted heat supply. This project provides a replicable green heating solution for industries such as chemical and palm oil processing in Indonesia and Southeast Asia. It supports local industries in achieving sustainable development goals of "cost reduction, efficiency improvement and environmental protection". It also demonstrates the technical advantages and reliability of Chinese boiler equipment in overseas markets.
